I am giving up my birthday prezzies to help families facing blood cancer!
Today, 47 Australians will be told that they have blood cancer and tomorrow – another 47 families will be devastated by the same news.
In my role at Leukaemia Foundation, taking calls from new patients and their carers, I am constantly reminded of the huge struggle for families living with blood cancers. They have the emotional shock and uncertainty following diagnosis, debilitating physical symptoms, as well as very real financial concerns. Even though they may be unable to work, they still have to find the money for expensive drug treatments.
This year, I am dedicating my birthday, 11th March, to help these families get what they need. Any support you can give will make a difference, whether it’s $5 or $50. Alternatively, even just a message or emoji of support, to help spread the word, would be greatly appreciated.
