I am giving up my birthday prezzies to help families facing blood cancer!

Today, more than 50 Australians will be told that they have blood cancer, and tomorrow – another 50 families will be devastated by the same news.

I have never thought I had enough money to donate to charities. I never wanted to be the person that only donated $5 or $10 as it seemed stingy and embarrassing. I wanted to do the grand gesture that was beyond me.

What I have watched every day over the last 2 years is just how much those $5 and $10 amounts actually do add up and how much of a MASSIVE difference they make in the lives of those who have been impacted by blood cancer. 

Last year I sat at home alone all day doing nothing and talking to no one on my birthday. This year it is time to make a difference little bit by a little bit. 

I already have some plans and room for more but while I celebrate me I also want to give back to those to whom the support, accommodation and transport services of the Leukaemia Foundation make a life-changing difference to. 

If 53 people give $10 I will reach my goal. I'm going to kick start it with $53.00 (see the theme) $1.00 for each trip around the sun. 

This year, I am dedicating my birthday to help these families make it through!
